The surgeon who examines you performs your procedure and answers your message afterwards. You are not passed between a clinic consultant and an unfamiliar operating list.
The right operation, not the newest one
Laser is superb for the majority of proctological disease and wrong for some of it. Where conventional or laparoscopic surgery is the better operation you will be told so — and where no operation is needed at all, you will be told that too.
Discretion as clinical care
Patients delay proctology consultations for years out of embarrassment, and that delay causes real harm. Spaced appointments, private rooms, chaperones on request and confidential records exist to remove that barrier.

The anticipation is almost always worse than the appointment. Here is the whole thing.

The conversation comes first
Ten to fifteen minutes of history, fully clothed, in a private room. Symptoms, duration, bowel pattern, previous treatments, medications, family history.

The examination
Inspection, a gentle digital examination and usually proctoscopy — a small lubricated instrument, a few seconds. Uncomfortable rather than painful. A chaperone is available on request, and you can decline or stop at any point.

The explanation
You are told your diagnosis and, where relevant, your grade or classification, using a diagram. Then every option — including doing nothing — with the honest advantages and disadvantages of each.

The plan and the number
A written plan, an itemised quotation, and an insurance pre-approval submitted on your behalf. Nothing is booked on the day unless you want it to be.
- You can ask for a chaperone, or decline any step of the examination at any point
- The proctoscope used for staging is a few seconds, not a procedure
- Nothing is scheduled on the day of your consultation unless you choose to
- Every record is kept confidential and is never discussed outside the clinic
