Cost & insurance
No clinic can quote a proctology procedure accurately before examining you — and any that publishes a single headline price is quoting the simplest possible case. Here is how pricing actually works, so you can compare properly.
What determines your price
- The condition and its stage. A Grade II pile and a complex multi-tract fistula are different operations.
- How much needs treating. One haemorrhoidal cushion or three; one tract or four.
- Additional steps. Mucopexy, tag excision, advancement flap, seton placement.
- Anaesthesia type and the facility fee at the licensed day-surgery unit.
- Investigations. MRI fistulogram, endoanal ultrasound or colonoscopy where indicated.
What your written quotation always includes
- Surgeon's fee, itemised
- Anaesthetist's fee and facility/theatre fee
- Single-use laser fibre and consumables
- Take-home medication
- All follow-up reviews for the episode of care
- A stated policy on what happens if a second session is needed
Ask any clinic for these six lines. The gap between a "from" price and a final invoice usually hides in them.
Insurance in the UAE
1 · Pre-approval
The clinic submits the clinical justification, diagnosis codes and procedure codes to your insurer on your behalf. You do not chase this yourself.
2 · What is usually covered
Most UAE insurers cover proctological surgery when medically indicated, and many now specifically approve laser techniques. Coverage depends on your policy tier, network, waiting periods and pre-existing condition rules.
3 · If it is declined
You are given the insurer's stated reason in writing, a self-pay figure, and — where the decline is clinically wrong — help preparing an appeal. Declines are frequently reversed with the right documentation.

Send your insurance details on WhatsApp and pre-approval can be started before you even attend. You will have a written self-pay figure as well, so you can decide with both in front of you.
